Membership

The Kenya Magistrates and Judges Association (KMJA), formed 35 years ago, is as a non-profit making Professional Organization registered in 1972 as a society under the Societies Act. Comprising Judges of the Court of Appeal including the Chief Justice, Judges of the High Court and all cadres of Magistrates and Kadhis, it was initially a welfare association. It has since evolved into initiating and undertaking various programs aimed at uniting and empowering Judicial Officers to make decisions that exhibit a good grasp of the legal, socio-cultural and economic realities of today while preserving judicial independence and integrity. In realising that they offer unique services relating to governance, the Judicial officers have widened their mandate so as to play a critical role in the country

Uganda Judicial Officers Association

The Uganda Legal Information Institute is an internet facility that provides the public with legal information relating to Uganda, with a view of promoting and supporting the rule of law.


ULII publishes public legal information- that is decisions of courts, legislation and some publicly available secondary legal materials created by public bodies for purposes of public access, for example the Justice Law and Order Sector(JLOS) and the Uganda Law Reform Commision (ULRC).


ULII has obtained the kind assistance of the Southern African Legal Information Institute (SAFLII) in its development and is a member of the free access to law movement.
